Hi everyone,
I refreshed the fluid of my AMN8 gearbox by already known method of draining around 3 liters 4 times and after that adjusting the level. In some of fhe forums I have read that after changing fluid, oil wear counter needs to be reset with Diagbox.
In Diagbox under repear menu I could not find any option for oil wear counter reset.
Even in parameter monitoring menu oil wear counter value is 0.( please see attached pictures)
Does anyone know if this is normal and maybe that gearbox doesn't need reset.
Or the counter reset option is under different menu?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

From the first picture, it looks like the oil counter is already at '0'.

Yes, that is correct. The thing is that I haven't reset it.

Re: AMN8 gearbox fluid refreshed
As far as i can remember when i reset my oil gearbox EAT6, in the last photo menu, there was a last choice , "oil replacement of gearbox" or something like that. Are you sure that you set down the drop menu with the arrows of keyboard or mouse? Additionally i was thinking that the oil wear counter had a combination of letters and numbers. You couldn't figure out how many hours or what PSA define as measurement unit . Also after the resetting (VmWare and 9.68 Diagbox) and 1k Km , i did a final 3lt oil change of 12 lt in total and the wear counter was 0. I tried and Diagbox 9.129 but i couldn't do the reset, because the program was stuck in the reset procedure. It's a mystery..

Re: AMN8 gearbox fluid refreshed
I watched some YouTube videos but all of them were for EAT6 and really there was an option for "gearbox oil replacement " at the end. Maybe in Diagbox 9.129 and ETA8 ECU that option is either removed or under different menu. Those are all available options for "gearbox repair ".I was hoping someone done that on ETA8 to share some experience.

Hi all,
in other Peugeot forums people advised, that the gears counter needs to be reset but have to be done online otherwise gearbox may not work properly. Also, is the gears counter resetting different than gearbox adaptation?
Any thoughts on that?
Thanks

I got the Diagbox with online connection but still can't find where that option is to reset the gears counter. If anyone who has done this can share some experience will be very helpful.

You'll probably have to run the global test first, then select the gearbox ECU from the list, then within there, there should be a repair section and look for options there that should all be related to the gearbox.

Did you manage to find the reset function under the gearbox ECU settings? I am due to replace the oil in my gearbox and was just checking how diagbox worked (first time user) and encountered the same 0 gearbox wear counter and no option to reset.

No, unfortunately I couldn't find it. I have done 5k miles since I have changed it and to be honest, don't see any issues.

Re: AMN8 gearbox fluid refreshed
It is essential to do this because the gearbox ECU will vary its operation over time to account for oil quality. If you don't do this it will assume original oil and make adjustments based on the oil's age and likely condition. You won't notice anything immediately obvious.
You need to look for the guided procedure to 'Initialise the oil wear counter'. It hasn't anything to do with 'gears'.

Re: AMN8 gearbox fluid refreshed
Hi all,
Does anyone have any update on the topic? I have done one more drain and refill after 8k miles but still haven't done oil wear counter reset. Does that need to be done with main dealer? I don't believe they will do any software change for a service they haven't done. Can I go to a independent garage so they do that reset for me?
Thanks in advance
