DS5 Media Control

Unread post by Graham369 »

Hi don't know if you can help but my DS5 62 plate multimedia control switch has stopped working, the info screen is ok but not responding when using the control switch, could this be as simple as a blown fuse and if so where would I find that fuse, any guidance would be appreciated many thanks Graham

I've created a thread for you here, as I don't deal with technical issues via PMs as it says in my post signature footer. ↓↓↓↓↓↓

As for the issue, post your VIN so I know what system you are referring to. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

No problem Graham.

Regarding the switch, are you referring to this control?

Hi yes that's the switch I've done the basics like making sure the contacts of the switch are clean and not stuck but still no joy! so any guidance would be much appreciated.

Ok, so This is called the Telematic Navigator and it has a fuse in the BSI. The BSI is in the passenger glovebox (be very careful here as this is the main vehicle computer). It is Fuse F32, which I have shown in red below. It's a 10 Amp fuse and should be marked on the surrounding plastic of the BSI - but the position is clearly shown. You may need a torch.

Hooray!! absolutely brilliant control switch now working, yes it was the fuse it hadn't blown just not seated properly, the car might be getting on a bit but it's still performing well.
What a great forum for French car owners lots of thanks.

What vehicle is this, you're missing the model (DS3, DS4, DS5, DS7), better still please provide the VIN so I can also see what telematics unit he has fitted. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Ok, so you have a SMEG Digital Radio Receiver. Some of these older models were not Apple CarPlay compliant, but some could be upgraded via a firmware update. If I recall at the time, this was a chargeable option to begin with, but I think they changed their minds and did the update if requested.

You'll probably have to get your dealer to upgrade the unit with the correct firmware if this is one of those upgradable units as the firmware alone may not be sufficient in that it may also need configuring to enable CarPlay too that requires a dealer level diagnostic tool or a server update.
