5270VP hydraulic pipe for Citroen C5 & C6
Cars are being scrapped because people can't get hold of the 5270VP hydraulic pipe which takes LDS from the long front to back pipe to the centre spheres.
I may have a source of these and of the pipes out to the struts and repair sections for the long front to back pipe.
Is anyone interested? I'm on the verge of buying what I need (from abroad).
The attached photo is of an original pipe, not the replacement. Cheers,
Mark

You mention the possibility of acquiring pipes other than the 5270VP. I would be interested.
The rear hydraulic supply pipework on my 2001 Mk1 C5 with Hyroactive3+ (described as "manually adjusted active suspension") are:
5270RL - long pipe from front reservoir to rear middle sphere.
5270QS - pipe from middle sphere to LEFT rear ram.
5270QQ - pipe from middle sphere to RIGHT rear ram.

Re: 5270VP hydraulic pipe for Citroen C5 & C6
Are these the same fittings as the xantia or are the same as the 2008- on C5's due to the hydractive 3+, if it is the later then would "Jay-Bruce system" save the day/car?aspire_helen wrote: 26 Apr 2024, 17:52 You mention the possibility of acquiring pipes other than the 5270VP. Re: 5270VP hydraulic pipe for Citroen C5 & C6
Hi Everyone, I have just come across this site while searching for a replacement hydraulic pipe part no 5270VP.
I note that in April a gentleman advised that he was trying to source these pipes from abroad.Has the search been successful?
If they are not available does anybody have a scrap one that can be copied. I was contemplating making some adapters to screw in to the female fittings on the car & then using a standard hydraulic flexible pipe to connect them together.
I have spoken to a MOT tester & he advises that this would be perfectly acceptable & would pass an MOT.
Your Comments welcome & any further advice. Stephen

To save reinventing the wheel, get in touch with forum member Jay-Bruce before you get any adapters machined.Dieselenthusiast wrote: 12 Jun 2024, 20:46 I was contemplating making some adapters to screw in to the female fittings on the car
One other point, on the Citroen GS's, the rear break pipe from body to caliper was solid pipe, you replaced it by coiling around the swinging arm bush, this may be an alternative to using rubber flex pipe. Yes the GS brake line had different end fittings but the idea was sound and possibly improved.

I managed to get one of these into the country...

...and it fits absolutely fine.
I don't think they post to the UK though. I managed to get somebody I know in Poland to buy it and then it was like a game of pass the parcel by half a dozen people in the company I work for to get it across Europe

Hi Lenny
I am currently looking at other options but if all else fails would it be possible to import any more through your network of connections? Would you have the scrap one from your car for me to copy.
Thanks for your interest STephen

Re: 5270VP hydraulic pipe for Citroen C5 & C6
I have still got the old one but I was going to keep it for a spare as it wasn't actually in bad condition once I'd cleaned it up. The worst bit was a slightly mangled union as I had to resort to mole grips.
An MOT tester pointed out that it was looking corroded last year but although the black coating was flaking off the actual pipe was fine. So it's had a coat of epoxy and bunged on the spares shelf.

Hi Lenny
Thanks for the response, the link to the Polish source looks promising, my brother has contacts in Poland so we may be able to source one that way. At the moment there is a slight chance of one being available in the UK. I am on holiday for a while so I will update when I return home.
Appreciate your help Stephen

Re: 5270VP hydraulic pipe for Citroen C5 & C6
HI everyone who helped, I have managed to source a replacement pipe 5270VP from the manufacturer's in Poland, the biggest problem was getting it to the UK. It is a well made item & was fitted last week & is all satisfactory.
I hope this gives confidence to source items from abroad. Stephen

Hi, If anyone is looking for a cheaper solution than the original, I recommend these adapters or the whole assembly.
