Parking Tales (as opposed to hassles) in this offering.

For a nostalgic wallow, you cant beat the Rank organisation's "Look at life" series of films. The proper parking meter which you shove coins in and has those dials moving across from white to yellow to red sections is now mostly if not absolutely a relic of history.

In 1969 they were in full swing though together with an army of uniformed proper traffic wardens. There is a link here to youtube to view " On the Meter" which tells the story of a London Traffic Warden. Lots of old cars and at one point a guest appearance by none other than....

That just reminded me that here in France I've seen parking meters in a shopping area which are free for a preset small period.
The moment you park the meter starts an automatic countdown which turns to red & beeps after the time is exceeded bringing it to the attention of parkee & parking flics.

April 2024 the last time anyone had any Parking tales or hassles :?: The audience of November 2024 will have forgotten this thread exists. :-D

Not exactly a parking tale more a picture of a November 2024 car park scene. As far as car park's go this is normally fairly scenic, high up with views out to sea. It was lit by fading sunlight from behind and the distance views of the coast and sea blanketed in a blue/grey wall of mist and cloud. Not a colourful scene from the cars point of view as we have come to expect, UK's "favourite car colours" which dominate are Grey, White and Black miles out in front in the latest info from 2023 registrations.

The standout car in the scene is of course the Falcon BB Micra :-D
