Regular readers might remember my fun with injectors a few weeks back - viewtopic.php?t=80488
Well, in the words of the great Roy Walker - it's good, but it's not right.
Still gives the occasional miss on idle, and still not briilliant at low rpm or light throttle. It's vastly improved, but not quite there. As a diagnostic step only, I fitted an EGR blank, which if anything made matters slightly worse.
Before I go much further, I think it's time to do a check of the basic engine health - it's possible the previous owner ignored the faulty injector for an extended time (I'm pretty sure they did), so there's a risk I've got a burned piston or valve, just enough to drop the compression a bit, and make that one cylinder a bit weak.
So - compression test.
I've already got a diesel-suitable tester, and luckily the expensive Laser Tools glowplug adapter can be made to fit my existing set, so I'm all good on that front.
Could somebody look up for me,
1 - The comprtession test procedure in The Book, especially how to disable the injection system to allow testing.
2 - The book spec for the engine's compression.
It'll then hopefully take a couple of hours to test that, and I know for sure if I have a decent engine or not.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Berlingo Compression Test Spec\Procedure
I finally got around to doing the tests, which to me look healthy enough. The tester is *supposed* to hold the peak pressure, but a small leak in the setup somewhere meant it was droppnig back slowly, so some of the variation is the time it took me to move from cranking the engine, to taking a reading off the gauge.

Off to play with injectors again - cylinder 2 is showing an idle correction almost 50% higher than the other 3. This makes me suspect it's sticky\partially blocked, as occasionally the calculated overall amount injected across all 4 goes up a LOT, and a cylinder misses. My guess is that every so often that injector unsticks, and dumps in too much fuel.
