Can AL4 leveling plug fall in the transmission?

Unread post by Arkis »

Hello,
We got an oldie but really nice Peugeot 206 1.4i 55kW, 2005 with AL4 automatic transmission for my wife as a first car.
I am currently doing oil change on the transmission, but I am a little hesitant about installing the leveling plug back. The leveling plug does not have "a lip" and I can't see inside the hole because the oil is dripping from there.
I am worried that if I tighten the plug too much it will fall into the transmission. Or is there any "lip" inside that prevents the leveling plug falling into the transmission?

Dont worry, it would be a really bad design if the level plug was allowed to go right inside.
Here is an internal cutaway pic that shows it butting up against the inside of the box.

Thank you very much! I was a bit worried because it kept going for longer than I remember unscrewing it. :-D
It really bottomed out only a few turns from my point.
