Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff. I'll see if anything is showing up.

Hi Marc, did you get a chance to check this for me please?

Thanks!

Hi Matt, thanks for reminding me, I forgot to bookmark your post.

So yes, there is an after-sales campaign showing with code ZPE.

This relates to the timing: The operation involves replacing the timing kit and crankshaft timing pinion, for vehicles with more than 120,000 kilometres or 75,000 miles on the clock.

The campaign was issued on 08/05/2014 and is showing as outstanding. I would give Peugeot a call - the work should be free of charge. If the vehicle had been serviced at a Peugeot dealership, then they would have picked this up at the time, but this not being the case, would not have any details of the current owner and as this is not an actual 'safety recall' - you wouldn't have been contacted under that system.

Hope this clarifies.

That's brilliant, thanks Marc! Will give Peugeot a call.

Could this cause or contribute to fault codes P0263 and P0266 "Correction of the injector dead times outside the norms"? On cylinder 1 and 2?

Thanks again

Just updated my post ^ have a re-read in case you missed anything in the last paragraph.

In the presence of one or more of these fault codes P0263, P0266, P0269, P0272, there is a technical bulletin reference: b1hw017eq0. I suggest you get Peugeot to look at that too whilst you are there.

The details of the TSB are in my post here for a C4 1.6 HDi with the same reference and yes, does impact the injectors:

Evening Marc,

Just wanted to express my gratitude for your kind assistance. As soon as I saw your replies above, I simultaneously fed my baby and phoned Peugeot customer care! They confirmed there was an after sales campaign and a bulletin on my car and gave me the number for my local dealer. Screw the phone call to the dealer! I tenderly limped the pug over to my local Peugeot garage, and arranged for the recall work to be completed. They were having none of the bulletin situation in terms of contributing/working out a deal. I can't win all battles, and I'm just really pleased now to know what the issue is, as I have been investigating and trying to remedy this for the past 12 months. I have been left stranded twice, had poor fuel economy and not really relaxed whilst driving my motor.

Anyway, I'm fitting 2 (more) injectors Sunday, local independent coming round to code them, all ready for the MOT on Tuesday. Then to Peugeot for the timing belt work mid-December, and hopefully a very happy car and owner all ready for its trek to Paris for our Christmas break.

This is all in an ideal world, and given the history this car and I have shared over 12 short months of ownership (like the washer motor packing up on me today, 5 days before the MOT), I am not expecting it to go smoothly!

Thanks again, and I hope I don't have to come back scrounging for more help next week.

Hi Matt - I hope the baby didn't choke!

Unfortunately the TSB bulletins are only generally carried out within the vehicle's warranty or extended warranty period. The After-Sales campaign work will be completed free of charge though. At least that has saved you significantly on having the complete timing kit replaced as that is labour-intensive. I'm not sure if they will include the water pump in that - or just the timing and tensioner rollers. So if not, it may be worth asking them to replace the water pump too, for the price of the pump, as there won't really be any more labour to do that.
