There's a small leak from the release valve/screw/bolt on our pressure regulator. I don't want to over tighten for fear of stripping the thread.
Is there a simple solution or trick that I am missing? I think it may be a 'ball and cup' type of seal but don't really know.
Any advice including advice to live with it???

Sorry, should have said it is a GS.

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
Assuming that it is similar to other Citroen regulators, there should be an O-Ring in a groove on the pressure release screw.

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
Thanks. Questions, questions, apologies!
I wonder if there is a diagram anywhere? I assume the 'O' ring is down at the other end of the screw, ie not the visible head end? Is there a ball bearing in there also?
I guess I would need to completely de-pressurise the system and then see if I can hook the remains of the old 'O' ring out?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

See the screw with o-ring and ball to the left of the regulator body.

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
Assuming that on the GS you can completely unscrew the pressure release screw with the regulator "in situ", be very careful of the ball bearing. If it makes it's escape it could be very hard to find!

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
Many thanks for that, very helpful, I will proceed with caution!
Never tried a ginger nut biscuit dunked in LHM, how was it?
I'll now start another 'leak' thread. As you might guess this car is new to me though 30 years ago I was a happy D owner...

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
Maybe a magnet to capture the ball as it exits?

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
That's an idea, I have a serious magnet. I was toying with the idea of putting a bag over the regulator and trying to undo it with the spanner inside the bag

Re: Pressure regulator leaking
All sorted, just had to replace the small O ring on the pressure relief screw
Thanks everyone.
