Bought one off Amazon for my friends car for around 400€, haven't fitted it yet though. But from the outside it looks ok..
I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre

The price of this aftermarket part is only 255.

A small difference.
Of course, for this price you might decide to take a chance.

Well, mechanism fitted. And something strange happens... (Service did calibration by lexia and the process succeeded). When I stop the car, and remove the key from the ignition, message Parking brake faulty and Anti rollback system faulty appears. The message is there and the handbrake is mulfinctioning (anti rollback system doesn't work but I have handbrake) if I will start the car immediately. If I leave the car for about half an hour, the messages are going out and the handbrake and anti rollback system are working fine until the next engine stop (when the automatic handbrake engages with the stop of the engine). If I use the handbrake during the ride, without stopping the engine, it works fine. Any ideas? Is there an upgrade to the Ecu or esp Ecu that can fix this? Many many thanks

1) The anti-roll back is handled by the ESP system not the Handbrake. So a fault here may indicate another issue.
2) The Electronic Handbrake has it's own ECU, but this ECU is controlled by the ESP ECU which is the master.

Automatic application of the handbrake may be applied in automatic mode when the vehicle stops. When the accelerator is pressed down the handbrake should disengage.

So this function is separate to the anti roll back which when on a slight incline can hold the brakes on for a few seconds to allow transfer of the foot to the accelerator pedal.

So to understand the cause of the issue, you will need to have it diagnosed with Diagbox and report the fault codes here with your VIN.

OK, I will go again tommorow, I will note the codes and I will post them here with my VIN.

Maybe an incompatibility issue with the part?

I don't know. The part which came is 9810501780 and not 1612865480. The seller says it is the same on his site.

Is there a special programming we have to do by lexia, except Calibration, that we didn't?

The strange is that sometimes it works perfectly, until the engine stops.

1612865480 is the later superseded part which no longer includes the emergency manual release cord. 9810501780 should be fine and as long as it was fitted correctly and calibrated, there's nothing else specifically I can see that needs doing.

I noticed that when it works good, and I switch off the engine, together with the indicators on the dash that go off, also goes off now the exclamation of the handbrake for half a second, and after this it goes on again and 'parking brake faulty' appears. So maybe we have an erratic part?

Also the parking brake on message after turning off the engine, appears again with engine off and after that the message parking brake faulty appears. Is there any other calibration to do with lexia? Maybe with the transmission?

No only the calibration we talked about.

So the calibration was the process when the handbrake closes and opens several times after a menu button on lexia, that's what they did with lexia.

The procedure is listed in Diagbox, there is one procedure to put the handbrake in service mode when working on the braking system to release the cables fully. When the work is complete, a long press on the handbrake control in the vehicle should re-tighten them.

There is another procedure to calibrate the handbrake when it has been replaced if I recall.

Yes, this was what they did. I am thinking of doing an online update to the whole software of the car, I will go to an authorized dealer for this. Maybe this will fix this issue...
