X7 Clutch

Unread post by RichardC »

Dear Experts
re our 2010 C5 X7 2.0 HDI Exclusive Tourer, hydraulic clutch
VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I have joint-owned this car with my Dad since new; the clutch biting point has always been relatively low, but fine

On returning from holiday, the biting point had dropped a couple of cm, almost to the floor, so I set about bleeding the clutch (a few years overdue!)

Following the attached guidance and using an EasyBleed connected to 15psi, I have bled the filthy fluid from the line, but the biting point remains almost at the floor.

I suspect I need to replace the Slave Cylinder and can see a wide range of variants, including Valeo and LUK; mine looks like the LUK variant.

I can source locally today a VALEO CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER, Part No: VLO3100419; any advice on suitability please?

The master cylinder seems to be powerful and fine, as does the clutch. The car only has 50k miles.

Best regards,

RichardC

I've moved this out of the official parts thread as not really sure if you are asking for a part or not. That thread isn't for technical queries - strictly for part number requests.

In case you want the official Clutch Slave Cylinder Part, see below. I only supply official part numbers, not aftermarket compatibility / cross referencing, but you can use the official part number to source an aftermarket part from this should you wish.

Many thanks for the part number Marc.

It does cross reference with a number of other brands, which should mean they match OEM specs

Yes, and you also have the current Citroen price which includes VAT for comparison.
