Hello
I have some play in my inner tie rods on my Citroën C5 Aircross. Do someone know the tightening torque for the inner tie rod on this car?
Is it also okay to use zip ties for the boot as there doesn't seem to be much room to use the crimping metal clips?
Best regards

What's the VIN of this vehicle - I don't have this one?

The Vin number is VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
And also the outer tie rod tightening torque as I need to remove it also.

Re: Changing inner tie rods on Citroën C5 Aircross
Thank you very much! I know on other cars some need the steering rack shaft to be counterheld to not get damaged during the removal and tightening of the inner tie rod. Is this the case for this car?

Does it state anything in the repair manual?

I can't seem to find the anti rotational tool anywhere to counterhold the steering rack shaft. Do you know if there is a flat spot on the shaft where a wrench can be placed?GiveMeABreak wrote: 13 Aug 2023, 12:49 Here's the guide:
C5 Aircross Steering / Tie Rod Removing & Refitting
If that's not the case I'll try to counterhold with a pipe wrench and wrap some rubber tube around the shaft for better grip.

You'll find many of the tools are special PSA tools that come in sets that the dealerships purchase and are not generally available to the public. But you can at least know what they use and search for an alternative.

It's a really expensive one for doing the job once. You'll be the best judge of that having one there to see, but here's the rack:

Hard to see with the boot in place. I know that other makes that have flat spots on the steering rack shaft place it on the drivers side of the rack. Luckily my driver's side is also the one which is the bad one. I'll update this post when I do the job so other people know if they can use a spanner to counterholdGiveMeABreak wrote: 13 Aug 2023, 23:03 You'll be the best judge of that having one there to see, but here's the rack:

Hi
Did you find an answer or tool to clamp / counterhold the steering rack when unscrewing the inner tie rod?
