Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Thanks for the help so far.
So I have so far replaced the microSD Card and managed to install the version 2.80 software. This has all worked fine.
I have then used a USB to run mirascripts and reinstall the user files, I think this has worked, however I now have no sound, as it has the JBL system I'm guessing it is not configured correctly. Can this be done? Or is that a setting that needs to be configured at dealer level/online?

I can't advise as far as Mirascripts goes but if you followed Part B of the guide to reinstall the settings using Mirascripts then it is possible that as the equaliser Amp is an optional upgrade, it may not be configured correctly. What is the vehicle VIN (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff as this will likely mean Diagbox / PP2000 needed to configure the Head unit / BSI back to include the correct option.

Hi,
wish to say hello and thanks for all knowledge you have shared with us.
Lately my Citroen C4 2013 have shiwed same sympthoms like you have registred as possible problem with MicroSD card…
Have followed your instructions and changed internal microsd with new, 16GB micro…
Everything went fine, but now i’m stuck on uploading new firmware procedure…before entering usbbwith 2.86 fe files, CD is trying to read something in 10-15 sec. sequence… so, I don’t have fw on CD…after inserting USB with fe tiles doenloaded from links from previous posts, cd stops trying to reach for fw from cd… usb drive flashes like reading something, but nothing happens on screen…
How long it will take before something will be displayed on screen..? At the moment nothing shows, screen looks like lightly powered but there is not Citroen logo or anything else…
How long I have to wait before something shows when you first install system after changind MicroSD…?
Is it safer to try with CD install, because there can be problem with usb instalation…? Can I symply write those FW files to blank Cd and fnalyze it…? Or there is some iso file to be downloaded for burning?
Thanks in advance

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi, thanks for super fast response!
I have read all those posts, bit still no luck… all steps checked, but I think that system can’t boot-up from my usb… have tried with two others, same again…
I was worried because nothing showed up on screen after changing card and reassembling everything back… for precaution, I have dissasembled everything again and returned original card to check if system still runs… and Citroen logo appeared, but it’s obvious that old card is broken - but system is luckily alive!
So, where am I wrong…? Do I need to try CD option to boot system from scratch…?
Edit: Is it normal not to have anything on display when USB is not inserted…? System tries to read FW from CD, but all the time there is nothing on the screen

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
The link in my last post to the proper installation of the firmware specifies that when installing it can take a while and the screen goes blank.. It can take 60 minutes or so as this is not a normal firmware upgrade - if you have a new card in then it is also creating the partitions and installing the operating system. If you keep interrupting it, then expect problems. How long did you leave it with the new MicroSD card?
If your old card is working, make sure you have a backup of the user data using Mirascripts.
Make sure your MicroSD card is compatible - do not go for anything too new as it may not be compatible with the system (especially speed and type).

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Ok, thanks… usb flash light was blinking but, I was worried because nothing appears on screen… I left it like that for maybe 15-20 minutes… system is obviously restarting during that time, because there is similiar restart noise from RT module fan…
So there will be nothing on screen for almost an hour…?
Edit: yes, I have backed up user data with Mirascipt comand before doing anything… hope that everything will be fine to write them back…

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
That's why I said to read the firmware guide properly - it clearly states all this about waiting and activity. The upgrade is doing more than 'upgrading' in the case where you are recreating and installing the operating system - so it will take a lot longer. Be patient.
When it is finished it will return to the message "update request message will then appear continuously." Then you know it has been completed.

Still no luck… I think that system refuses USB and restarts, because it’s happening for almost 50 minutes now… light on isb flashes for a while(maybe 5 minutes), than there is a rt fan noise and disk read check noise from CD… nothing appeared on screen during this time…

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
What are the files you have on the USB - do they match those in the screenshot in the guide?
Is the USB flash fault free, and FAT32 Formatted?

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Eveythig YES, have tried it via USB few years ago, bit haven’t got luck and have gave up… now I have formated 4GB cart to FAT32, and just copied rt6 2.86 update files to it…
Is it enogh to burn this files to CD, finalyze it and to try to update system through CD drive, as it should be primary booting device…?

You need an 8 or 16Gb MicroSD or are you referring to the USB?

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Yes, yes to USB… I have microsd card replaced with 16GB one… it’s strange that old card works like before, not good but works… new system with 16GB replacement shows nothing… last thing I can do is to try it once more time with USB tommorow and to burn CD from update archive files, if USB update can’t be achived again…
