C4 picasso Injector 1

New problem that doesn't seem to be clearing p02cd 00 relating to Injector 1. Do you have the part number for this please Marc?

Fault Code:
Fault Code: P02CD 00
Description of Fault: Combustion of cylinder N° 1: Correction of the quantity of fuel injected insufficient. The diesel injector number 1 resetting strategy has reached its upper limit.
Conditions for Fault to clear: The following conditions have to be met:
- After switching the ignition off and then back on
- Driving for 5 minutes
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: -
Symptoms:
  • Lack of power
  • Hesitation / Vibration
  • Engine hesitating, cutting out
  • Absence of automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine
  • Activation of the cruise control or speed limiter function impossible
  • Deactivation of the cruise control
  • Deactivation of the speed limiter
  • Starting problem
  • Fluid leak/smells (diesel fuel, oil, etc.)
  • Malfunctioning of the engine when idling
  • Growling/whirring/booming
  • Banging/knocking/creaking
  • Crackling / Sputtering / Knocking
Suspect Areas:
  • Diesel injector N°1
  • Electrical harness

Note I've included seals and mort importantly the supply pipe for Cyl 1, as these must be replaced when changing an injector, owing to deformity of connection when removed.

I've lost track a bit of what's already been done! Have you had No 2 injector changed already or am I losing the plot?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

This was split off from another topic as it was not relevant, but from the code relates only to injector 1, so not sure where you are coming from Paul regarding No 2 Injector.

I've put my Diagbox on Dan's car a couple of times now to sort some things out and I wasn't sure whether I have been told that an injector in another position had already been changed.

Regardless, if it does need an injector changing then I may be able to assist as I have spare injectors (I bought a set of 4 S/H when I had a problem a few years ago with the 308) and I think they might be the same as his. The engine ECU is certainly the same. I also have new spare stretch bolts as I had to buy an MOQ bag of 5.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

If you are doing it by the book you are also meant to replace the injector return pipes/seals too. In the real world though i have reused more of these injector supply pipes (on various types of HDi’s) than i could count & never had any issues.
Seals 8 & 9 in my opinion are super important to be replaced. Even more important than that i would say making sure that the seat in the cylinder head is spotless before replacing an HDi injector. There are proper seat cleaning tools for doing this. If the injector seal is not properly cleaned its not usually too long before you start getting blow by.

I've not changed an Injector as of yet Paul, but there was a fault code the last time you connected your diagbox. You did clear the code and it didn't reappear until the other day. Presumably an intermittent fault has turned in to a permanent one here.

You need to check availability as well. When I had my problem a couple of years ago I was told that there were none in the country and that they were on back order at the factory! I'll be back in the UK next weekend if you can wait.

Or if you can't wait for Paul to check his are compatible. use the part numbers to search on Google and you will find them cheaper - but of course there are reconditioned ones and new ones - so plenty of options.

Wow. That's crazy. I was wondering if its worth doing all 4, perhaps I'll wait until each one fails then replace.
With that code would you say the Injector is definitely knackered, couldn't be a fault triggered by the adblue issue? Would injector cleaner be worth a try?
