The three wheel nuts gave it away to me, definitely not a 2CV!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

If you had forked out for a classic Austin Healey 100 would you really go for black wire wheels rather than gleaming chrome

Far from the World's finest wheel, shod in 255/40/R22/103V tyres
Those ain't bargain basement tyres Looked them up on ASDA tyres...1 tyre is 3 x the price I paid for the Falcon Bargain basement K12 Nissan Micra in 2019 (whole car including the 5 tyres!).

Re: Wheel meet again!!
Ummmm, normally I'd say chrome but in this case, and I may be a lone voice here, but I rather like the black against the red bodywork. It works in this case but I'm not sure it would for any other colour...NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑03 Jun 2023, 09:03 If you had forked out for a classic Austin Healey 100 would you really go for black wire wheels rather than gleaming chrome

Re: Wheel meet again!!
Slight tangent, but it would appear that PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake) is a thing, manifesting itself in the mirror finish discs on that Porsche, just never noticed it before.
PSCB is one of the options you can select if you are in the market to buy a Porsche and any semblance of a cost of living crisis and inflation is just passing you by without too much hardship. The discs/pads last longer inspite of the discs having a surface coating of tungsten carbide to only to a depth of 0.1mm, and make less brake dust in combination with the special pads required. Driven normally rather than ridiculously harshly they maintain their mirror finish, as on that one I saw at the charging point. Obviously when the discs and pads do need the inevitable replacing, compulsory wallet and bank account emptying will be the order of the day, and stick with the vid to the end and you will see what Porsche quoted for replacement, and that was 3 years ago!
At 10 minutes it's in the too long unless you are interested to find out, and it's a USA presenter presentation, but is reasonably informative about the the subject.

Re: Wheel meet again!!
To get a more up to date price punchline, as of right now you can order on-line those Porsche Surface Coated Brake Discs when they need replacing on your Porsche Taycan 4S for a reduced price £1,592.80 each, free delivery though!
The Sixteen Hundred Pound Disc, Gentlemen we have the Technology, obviously the person on the Clapham omnibus will not be able to afford it!

I must admit, I hadn't realised braking technology had declined so much in recent years that we needed a new version of the brake disc. Who'd 'ave thunk that these news brake discs would be a lot more expensive, rather than cheaper, than the sort of brake discs we've all come to know and love. Progress, eh !

Re: Wheel meet again!!
TC discs? Really? We use Tungsten Carbide on percussion drill bits because it drills concrete really quickly. As for a breaking component I'm not sure it will be that affective as braking needs resistance which TC shouldn't give.
