Injector Coding

Unread post by Pug1 »

Hi, just wondering if you got the injectors coded? I am having the same issue and just says “impossible to program” every time i enter injector code. Also, were did you find the code written in your injectors as i am confused if i am looking at the wrong numbers. Thanks

I've moved this into a separate topic as the other thread was specifically for a Dispatch Van.

Best to provide your VIN as each Injection system can have a different method of coding and certainly will have different numbers or classifications (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

Hi, thank you, sorry i am new on here.
My vin is : VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Peugeot 308 2.0 hdi. Delphi dcm 3.4 ecu and delphi injectors.

I recently had an ecu failure and purchased a another virginised ecu and programmed it in, configuring all transmission, engine, etc, so the car now starts and drives but when i switch car off and lock it and then come back i get faults p1693, u2003, p1403 as well as injectors not coded and transmission only stays in 3rd until i erase all faults again and then it runs smoothly.

Thank you
Look forward to your reply.

Here are the fault codes for you.

As for the injectors, replacement just notes the following: "Note the 16 identification characters; Match the injectors to the cylinders using the diagnostic equipment".

Looks like you have a fault in the CAN wiring that may be causing these other issues.
Fault Code: P1693
Description of Fault: Controlled engine starting and stopping: Starting or stopping requests absent or not valid. The starting or stopping request is invalid.
Conditions for Fault to clear: Ignition on
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Deactivation speed limiter until the next time the ignition is switched on
  • Deactivation cruise control until the next time the ignition is switched on
Symptoms: -
Suspect Areas: -

Fault Code: P1403
Description of Fault: Additional heating circuit 1: Short circuit to earth; Short circuit to positive; Open circuit; Actuator malfunction. Short circuit to earth or short circuit to positive or open circuit (Additional heating circuit 1, for 2 seconds).
Conditions for Fault to clear: Ignition on
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: -
Symptoms: -
Suspect Areas: -

Fault Code: U2003
Description of Fault: Remote Controlled Wake-up: Main triggering request absent or not valid. Main triggering request absent or not valid.
Conditions for Fault to clear: Driving for 5 minutes
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Deactivation cruise control until the next time the ignition is switched on
  • Deactivation speed limiter until the next time the ignition is switched on
Symptoms: -
Suspect Areas:
  • CAN network

Hi Marc,
Thank you for that information. I have tried looking everywere on the injector for a 16digit code but cant find it anywere, its either 21 or 20. Do you know were it is located? The part number of the injector is 9656389980. Cant figure out how to post photos on here.

Also, i have just found out that the only way the codes will come up are if the car has been driven, stopped and LOCKED, and then as soon as you unlock it and start it, they all come up, if you do not lock the car, no errors and runs perfectly..

To upload photos, use the Full Editor & Preview button, then the Attachments tab at the bottom, then browse your phone or PC for the image and upload. Use the PLACE button to insert the image in your post where you want it.

The codes will be printed on the injector barrel or the top of the injector.

Ensure you have the correct injector for your vehicle though as this is crucial.

However, you really need to focus on the fault codes at this stage - the injectors will have nothing to do with what's happening. You have other faults that need to be investigated I suspect.

I don't have experience with Delphi injectors but where are the codes normally marked on them?

Judging by this photo off Ebay it must be one of the numbers here. Assuming it's the same type of course!

What does interrogating engine ECU give as the code for the old injector? Can that not be compared by simply looking at the old injector?
