What happens when you put the sidelamps on?

The Daytime Running Lamps on the DS7 are controlled by the BSI, so unless you can locate an electrical issue at the light module, it's going to need a diagnostic / dealer visit. They don't even provide a comprehensive fuse list in the owner's manual, preferring you to seek assistance from the dealership - as these have so much electrical tech on them - so lots to go wrong.

It may possibly need a new module, but here is the connector you need to check:

Is the connector accessable without a major dismantling?

Well not without taking the wheel off and the wheel arch shield protection to get at it to be honest - you'd be the better judge of that Clive as you have one to work on, but at least you know where it is. I was thinking that it might be worth checking the connector is on securely.

Putting sidelights on makes no difference. :(

I have recently suffered the same with my DS7.

Driver side DRL intermittently not operating.

I choose to dismantle the wheel arch and remove the unit. Not overly difficult but could have been made easier.

The unit consists of a plastic housing that holds the LEDs and a light bar and on the back there is a heat sink. This all sits in a large space in the bumper cavity in front of the wheel.

These units are susceptible to corrosion and on inspection, the corrosion has penetrated the PCB in the heat sink housing. The rubber seal had failed and there was water ingress into the unit. A thorough clean and careful reassembly has saved me a small fortune in a replacement unit and indeed dealership fees.

Not advisable if you are inexperienced but if you are confident in maintenance and repair, this is fixable if the ingress has not damaged the PCB.

Thanks for the contribution, I'm sure it will provide some clarity for others in the same boat.

In most cases water ingress into Dlr. Pcb will look like this...
