Unread post by Rajko »

Hello everyone
I have a problem with remote unlocking.
    1. I paired the key
    2. when I click the unlock or lock button, I only hear the relay clicking but nothing happens, the car does not respond.

The relays in the BSI are shi...not good. The most likely answer is that the contacts of that relay are burnt out, but the relay still works, fairly common.
I am not sure if they were using a "modern" BSI in 2001? If so, the BSI consists of 2 circuit boards. 1 controller board and 1 relay/fuse board.
The 2 boards can be pulled apart and either the relay replaced or the whole relay board replaced from a "donor" BSI.

Replacing the BSI is not really an option. :-D

Another option is the fuse or fuse holder being damaged?

I have a similar issue so will be watching. Also some time ago I had a problem with the central locking, would lock on the key not the remote, but would just unlock a second later. It was a broken wire inside the driver's door jam.

If it's like the Xsara then you can tell by the switchgear on the steering wheel. The early type has the radio controls on the wheel, the later type has a separate stalk.
