As long as you put a minimum of 1 Litre in you'll be fine. There's no way to see how much is in there without physically removing the whole tank assembly, emptying the contents and measuring it Graeme.

Thank for your reassurance Marc, I did read somewhere on here that the level is right when the fluid begins to drip from the other pipe fitting before you reattach it. Anyway, I'm sure it'll be good for a while. It's easy enough to do if you remove the rear wheel anyway.

Yes, if using a large 3 litre kit for example, then it will start over-filling, so a litre is officially recommended for top ups as it is a good balance.

Morning,

Sorry if this has already been asked, my partner's C4 Grand Picasso 1.6HDi (58/2008) has had the Particle Filter Fluid level low warning appear on startup for a little while now - I could do with actually getting the job done, but I'm not entirely clear on which fluid it takes, where it is filled from and what to expect.

Can someone tell me definitively which fluid it will take and where it is filled from? I rarely have anything to do with that car as it has generally been very reliable so I haven't explored it much.

Cheers!

Edit - I'm aware I'll have to input the change via Diagbox afterwards which shouldn't be a problem.
Cheers,
Miles

I'll need the VIN to check this for you as I don't have one for the C4 Pic.

@Orbit Motors: Ok, so for this vehicle with this build date, you need Eolys 176 or it's equivalent. The original part number is: 1623961480.

Link here for examples. Some come with the filling kit.

That one's got a pouch, Marc, original part no 1500PS, replaced with 96 781 016 80. Whilst you can in theory refill the pouch you will probably find it is split, or it splits when you try and fill it! Much easier just to whack a new one in...

Thanks Richard, well spotted  , I just used the standard part for the Eolys Fluid Type and didn't check whether a pouch. Must be all this Picasso Handbrake stuff that everyone's having at the moment and it's driving me nuts. :-D

Hi. I am from Greece and new member of this very helpful forum. Fisrt of all i am very glad to be accepted here, please forgive my mistakes but English is not my mother language.
I would like your help. I have a c4 PICASSO 2010 1.6 hdi ( DV6TED4). The vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
I had the low additive warning so i need to top it up. I onow that my car jas s pouch. The problem is that local dealers told me that citroen gives a new pouch with the pump attached ( not the pouch alone) for about 300 euro ( about 300 pounds i think). Is this true?
I found a dealer in England that sells a pouch alone ( not genuine i think) for 65 pounds. https://d2pautoparts.com/products/dpf-f ... d8c9&_ss=r. Is this ok for my car? Ss a non genuine part can it lead ti problems for the engine??
Thank you in advance!!

Hi

Yes you do have a pouch system.
No, it is not sold with the pump, so change your mechanic, as they haven’t got a clue.

The pouch is sold separately, which is just replaced in the pouch holder. You still need a diagnostic tool to tell the engine ECU that the additive has been topped up.

Thank you for your answer. The problem is with the main dealer not my mechanic. He called the dealer in front of me and the dealer gave him two options ( just the liquid for 105 euro - but this not for me since i cannot refill the pouch- or new pouch with the pump). Could you tell me if the pouch i posted fit my car, or even better could you tell me where i could buy a genuine part in England? A relative of me lives close to London so he could buy one and ship it to me .
