Mothers doesn't work.
I've checked the fuses & renew them to be sure but still no joy. I've been told there is a pipe that can pop off somewhere under the battery? Anyone got anymore info on this before I start pulling things apart?? She's going away Saturday & have been told, she'd like to try it out (i.e fix it or else!)

the brake light switch inside the pedal is probably the most common cause of CC failure on the xantia even if the brake lights are working ok.i believe there are 2 sets of contacts.

I may be wrong but I was told by a stealer that it required a new brake pedal!!!

Mine started that recently. I'm sure it's the pedal switch as I managed to get it working (just once) by lifting the pedal with my foot.
It's a "oneday" fix when I get time

cheers all, ok is there a easy way of testing these switches? I'll be looking out for them while im at the breakers tomorrow

well kind of,the switch is under the rubber grip of the pedal.

I fixed the brake pedal switch on mine by taking it apart and cleaning the contacts. It has been fine now for 6 months.
The other common problem is the vacuum hose to the control valve. It splits just where it is pushed onto the valve. To inspect this, you need to remove the front bumper.
