( ** You can have the corny joke on me, too!) :-D
Yes, they can be biblically tight... Just room to swing decent Stilsons but there's not a lot of room...

Another  for the Snap On/Off reducer :)

Oh gosh yes, the risk is always heightened when using what might be considered inappropriate tools for the job... Certainly it is very easy with any Stilson-type tool to put side forces on whilst struggling to undo something a bit recalcitrant in a confined space.

As you say, beware and take care!

A 24" Stilson with a 3' extension tube wielded by a 6' Gorilla isn't going to end well. Ever. Even 6' Ballet Dancers could wreak havoc.

Now, there is an image you will never forget!

    That little combination could well end up twisting the rack off its subframe mounts!

What you want.............. is one of these pipe wrenches
HTR Pipe Wrench
HTR Pipe Wrench
For those not familiar with "Hand Tool Rescue's" channel, he does some thoroughly interesting restorations on all sorts of old toolage - the one on the fractal vice is astonishing mainly due to its mode of operation - and he does the restorations slightly tongue-in-cheek as well, so both enjoyable and entertaining.

"Get your kit off" as the ladies might shout. Or " Do you know how to use that Tool?"

Sorry. Lowering the tone.

I know. Just couldn't resist a tongue in cheek one for the Lassies. I will wear sack cloth and ashes til the end of the Rugby.
Well maybe not. Riveted to the game. Ryries and the Haymarket will be buzzing with Welsh and Scots fans mingling - and a lot of them will be women and none the worse for it.

 It all makes for a bit of great fun and we are blessed with some great mods this forum :-D It's often been said that this forum has the atmosphere of a cosy old country pub :) Long may it and the banter continue

In much the same way as I was taught "to tighten a bolt until it broke then back a half turn", I was also taught PFV.
What is P F V
Progressive Forms of Violence.
Think of it as starting with a baby Gorilla with Water Pump Pliers and SLOWLY working up to the Hulk on Steroids.

I was also taught FORK
Find Other ways to Repair, Kno****d!

Just think what Sunday Roast is going to be like from now on! Once these are implanted in your mind, you are less likely to do something terminal without a Plan B to avoid the monday morning blues on the bus.

There is a KNIFE bit as well but it is mostly bleeps. The E bit is EEJIT. Think of it as being Fork Before Knife - FBK
