CV joints

Unread post by Kenmac15 »

Does anyone know if the C5 X7 outer CV joints are a one fits all, as I've found one for sale & they list all the models it fits 2008 2.0 -3.0ltr but doesn't list the 2.7

Some X7s are fitted with shafts that do not have removable CVs - but I don't think it's engine specific, just depends on what was on the shelf on the day!

Well an update on the CV joint.
Richard was 100% correct about some not splitting as mine wouldn't split but I did learn something. Just to see how the joint was held on I took a cutting blade to the joint & cut it in half & the bearing race seems to pressed on the shaft but after I got the joint off the end of the shaft it had the C clip channel groove, so I bought a new joint which came with a new C clip & the joint fits perfect so turned out a £30 job instead of £150+ so over the moon.
