Re: Eolys?
Thanks Richard. Trying to source a new connector. Mine is a 2009 2.0 HDI Estate, would the hatchback diesels from a similar year have the same connector I wonder ?

Re: Eolys?
Don't count on it. There are different pump / tank assemblies fitted on different vehicles, so you would need to make sure you source one from the same vehicle, same engine and build date to be sure.
If you want official part numbers for the tank then it may be worth a membership upgrade - see below:
If you can't already find the info you need on the Forum, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future parts requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.
If interested, links are below, then pop your VIN up.

Re: Eolys?
Might sound like a strange question, but I know that the DPF can be removed and mapped out. I had the battery disconnected and it was shortly after that, next day I think, that the particle filter low warning came on, and now I see that it’s not getting any fluid as the connection is broken. I’m wondering if someone previously removed the DPF and mapped it out, and the warning has just came back on ? Is there an obvious way to tell if it’s been removed ? If not, is removal and mapping worth the effort ? Read a few posts on it but would love some reassurance - in in a small town, only one local mechanic who has suggested removal but says he dies not do it. My kids have just relocated quite a distance away so soon I’m going to have regular journeys a couple of time a week to there and back so the issue is more urgent.

Re: Eolys?
We don't condone removing or crippling emissions systems on this Forum, so please don't ask about that as it is illegal to do so and can invalidate your insurance (as the car no longer meets the requirements for the vehicle certification when new).
If it has been previously deleted, I would expect that it would not pass the emissions test for the MOT. However it is not always obvious from appearance that this has been done.
You may just have a faulty pump, or the fluid needs topping up and the counter resetting, or the DPF is at end of life, but you should be getting messages. A diagnostic with Diagbox should also bring some codes up, post them up if you have them.

Re: Eolys?
Thanks again Marc for your advice. I’m going to try to repair the broken connector, it does not look to be running any significant pressure so hopefully it will hold, then throw a litre of fluid in to see how I get on. It’s such a good car if these seemingly small, but potentially expensive issues would not keep cropping up. My last few cars have cost just a few hundred and I got years out of them, I invested in this family wagon thinking it would save me money
The joys of divorce
Thanks again.

Re: Eolys?
Indeed. Unfortunately apart from emissions issues which can be common for all vehicles, the C5s are becoming an issue for specific parts, and this includes the latest X7 model which has disappointed many enthusiasts with lack of power steering and suspension pipes and components.
The X7 has its own issues, most notably with steering racks (I myself was on my third rack at 70k miles) and they obviously knew that this would be the last hydraulic vehicle they offered. Some parts seem to have become unavailable for these far more quickly than other vehicles that are no longer made and this has prompted some of us to move them on. Such a shame to be honest.

Re: Eolys?
Hi all,
I have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6eHDi 2014 VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
I have a low additive warning. It came up when after I was filling the fuel tank.
I want to replace it asap because I don't want to damage the pump as well and after I will try to find someone with Diagbox to reset to counter.
I am wondering what type of additive I need and who much.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Mike

Re: Eolys?
For this build you need Eolys POWERFLEX. You'll need to Google for prices your self as the fluid is available from multiple sellers. Fluid is usually topped up by a minimum of 1 litre.

Help please
I have a 2009 C5 2.0 HDI Estate. Could someone please tell me the location of the particle fluid reservoir, which connection to remove and the process for refilling. I have the fluid and the refill kit I just need to be sure I’m following the right procedure. Am happy to purchase membership if that’s required ?
many thanks

Re: Eolys?
There a video here - same applies, but you will need Diagbox to reset the additive counter afterwards which is critical, otherwise the engine ECU will not know you have topped it up (as the fluid is not physically measured).

Re: Eolys?
Hi Marc, and thanks again for the help on this. I have watched all the available videos on YouTube, but the tanks are all slightly different depending on the car, and there is no video for my C5.
I found some photos of a second hand tank on eBay, and have attached the photos, my big question is does the fluid go in via the placement marked in red or the one marked in green ? And if it’s the one marked in red, is it via the “male” part, that’s part of the tank or the “female” connection that’s removed ?

Re: Eolys?
In your 1st picture you disconnect the flexible pipe & fill it through the actual flexible part, the plastic bit that is left sticking out is the bit it over flows out if you add too much.
Your kit should have a male-male adaptor in it to allow the filler pipe to fit into it.

Re: Eolys?
Thanks wheeler, so just to make sure in not missing it ( I’m so nervous with this car) in disconnecting it and it’s going in the direction marked below. I must sound like a complete idiot but I just want to make sure.
Many thanks again
