Peugeot 308 GTi P1338, P1336

Unread post by santa99 »

Hi guys,
  • I am experiencing really strange problem for longer period of time with my Peugeot 308 GTi T9 Pre Facelift model. It's (Orange Submarine - MIL - Check Engine Light => Engine fault, check or repair engine.
I really tried everything what was suggested like, new coil pack, new spark plugs, I checked PCV ventilation that works.
Then I decided to do last step which was change of injectors on cylinder 2 a 3 that should reflect code P1338.
I am giving you an example of codes read before dismantling and after repair but it changed completely nothing.

Before repair

After repair

What I learnt from observation
- Since this state is persistant for longer period of time I realized that this check engine light comes on several minutes after I opened gas tank cover and fill the gas.
- I am living with this problem for longer time and I know how to reset it but it's really sucks.

I would need your help or advice what I could get checked, someone who is really experienced with these engines.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Cheers.
M

It didn't work. Isn't there anyone who had such issues?

To have any idea of how effective the cleaning process has been you need an endoscope that has a sideways looking lens. Then rotate the engine so the valves are open in the cylinder being examined. My guess is that the procedure. Was not effective. For it to have any chance of removing build up on the valves they would have to be open.

Pop your VIN up (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff) and I'll see if I have some more detail on those remaining fault codes.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Hey bud, have you come to a conclusion on what the issues were? I’ve got the same codes on mine, and taken it to a garage and they’ve put a new bpu on saying that could be to fault for throwing up the codes but I’m quite skeptic about it although I’m not paying for it so having it done anyways along with spark plugs.
