Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
hello everyone, I have a problem with the roof and rear doors on my Citroen C3 Pluriel 2008. It was bought with a roof that didn't work, the brackets were a problem. In order to somehow solve it, I bought a complete roof with windows, rear window and brackets from a car that was for parts, but the roof worked for it, as I tested. The installation was easy and everything went well, however, there was a problem that now the rear trunk won't open as well as the trunk with glass and the roof doesn't react. I changed the battery, fuses, checked the cables, everything is fine. When I try to move the roof, it does not respond and the sound of the engine is not heard, as for the trunk, only a click is heard on the relay behind the battery, I tried to change it but the same thing happens. does anyone know what it could be, I've already put a lot of effort into the car, I don't want it to fail in the end. thank in advance

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
Firstly, you are a brave person buying a Pluriel, especially one with roof problems.
What year of car did you take the roof cassette from? There is a difference in the roof control modules from early VAN/CAN models & the later full CAN models, yours will almost certainly be the full CAN variant.
Does the roof vinyl not move at all even for the first section? Assuming you have the correct roof for the car next thing to check would be live data from the roof ECU to see what the roof position microswitches are saying, there are six if I remember right. If one of these switches is not seeing the information it’s expecting to see it will not allow the roof to operate.

2006 and mine is 2008.the engine is the same I checked everything three times, I even changed the micro switch, which is the same, and tried the old one, same without results.
the roof does not move at all, the trunk and the roof seem to have no electricity, only a click is heard from that relay and nothing happens. As for the whole mechanism, I closed the roof manually and it runs smoothly. The engine also works, as I checked.

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
Do you have diagbox?
You really need to check the live data of the roof position microswitches (not the boot open ones), from memory there are 3 of these on each side of the roof if these are not giving the correct info to the roof ECU the roof will not move.
If you have your vehicle VIN available i will take a look at a wiring diagram later.

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] HBK FVC 2810 6567
thank you, when you have time take a look.
I don't know how to check it, I have an ordinary obd2 input and a cheap reader, but after scanning there is no error. for the live data of the micro switches I don't know how to check.

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
Hi, and
to the Forum. The vehicles made by the PSA Group need a specialist reader (known as a Lexia/DiagBox clone), as most generic readers struggle to 'understand' them (mind you, most PSA vehicle OWNERS struggle to understand them as well!
). You can look around for such a device, but be aware that some of the cheaper units have a reduced opto-coupler set, and so do not work with certain vehicles. Try and get a unit from a reputable source (Easy Diagnostics is a supplier that many Forum members have used).

Is there another way, because I don't have access to that device? if any of the parts can be replaced, I can because I have a car for parts at my disposal. however, everything worked fine on the car for parts until a new battery was installed.

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
If you have a reasonable laptop computer (for the mobility) you can get a decent Lexia/Diagbox setup for around £125. While this may see a lot (compared to a generic reader), dealerships can charge £90 for a diagnostics session. This shows that having your own Lexia setup can quickly save you money (and, if you have friends with PSA vehicles, you can help them out as well). The biggest 'problem' is that (because the PSA Group never intended for the Lexia to be publicly available) there are no official guides on using a Lexia.

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
OK so here is the wiring diagram for the roof, I've split it into 2 to make it easier to read. As you kan see there are plenty of interlock microswitches.
You can look up the component codes Here > https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/wiki/Elect ... ring_Codes to identify what each component is.
First thing you might want to check is that on the 12 way Brown connector of the roof ECU that pins 4 & 5 have a good permanent battery supply & that pin 8 has a good earth.

thank you for your help and time, but I have an update on the situation, when I was sitting in the garage, I looked by chance and saw that the rear window switches were not working, they were not receiving electricity. I tried drastic measures to change the entire engine computer as well as the rear engine, but there is still no power. rechecked all trunk cables, changed new ones but without success. I tried reset also without success. if you have any idea what else i could check i would be grateful.

Have you checked the power supply & earth to the roof control unit like I suggested??

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
I checked the voltage of the microswitches and the roof motor, both have no voltage. As for the window lifters, they accidentally got voltage again for 30 seconds and closed and immediately lost voltage. While the front windows have voltage, as well as the microswitch for opening and closing the roof. But the trunk button only the click of the relay is heard and nothing more after that. how do i check the grounding of the roof?wheeler wrote: 04 Dec 2022, 08:53 Have you checked the power supply & earth to the roof control unit like I suggested??

Re: Citroen C3 Pluriel Roof HELP
Did you reset the roof after installing it on the car so it knows it’s position? If this has not been done the roof doesn’t know if it is in a position that is safe and as a result doesn’t allow the back window or the tailgate to open.
