Re: DS4 heater blower
Hi Newbie here, I have the DS4 2012 1.6 200thp.... blowers stopped working a few months ago, bought a resistor but can't find where to put it, also can't see how to get at the fuses - any help would be much appreciated as needing the blowers more now its getting colder - they were working perfectly then stopped on the same day
and still sometimes power up for a few seconds when I start the car then stop again.
Please help!!!

Re: DS4 heater blower
We have replaced the resistor it made no difference, there is power to the resistor.
The fan works with a direct feed battery connected to 36 and 37 on 8045.
The no 10 fuse is fine.
There is power constantly to 10 PR/59 from the pink and brown wires pictured when tested with a multimeter. With a direct feed to this the fan came on but at a lower speed to start which seemed to show the resistor was doing its job.
Any and all suggestions greatly welcomed!
Thank you!!

8050 is the Blower Motor Module (where separate) and you can see that the earth MC46C connects via the interconnection harness to 039 at pin 4 which then goes to the blower module pin 6. So that is likely to be your earth - and the power looks to come from JG10 via fuse F10

Re: DS4 heater blower
Is anyone able to reply to my above message? I'd really appreciate some input as I can't find a recommended electrical mechanic locally so I'm really struggling to get it fixed! Thank you!!!

Re: DS4 heater blower
Hi all
Having taken the car apart twice and found that the fan works with direct power to it and replaced the fuse. We think it is either the sensor or the thermometer? Does anyone have any knowledge of this?? (The little brown and pink wires shown in attached image)
Thanks!
Lisa

Re: DS4 heater blower
Some answers provided here are in response to specific owners' vehicles on their specific issue Lisa. I think you have jumped in without providing any specific issues about your vehicle's problem or any info about it.
Can you please explain the specific issue with your vehicle - i.e. does the fan work at full speed or nothing, or not at all on any speed? If you replaced the Blower Control Module as detailed earlier in post 14, what brand did you get and are you sure it was the blower control module and not the air heating resistance unit?
Do you have any error or fault codes and finally please provide the VIN so we can see if we have a specific diagram for your vehicle as they are not alwasy the same depending on trim and options.

2012 DS4 Blower not working
I've split this off into a separate thread to make it easier to understand Lisa's issue

Re: 2012 DS4 Blower not working
Can the power supply to the resistor support any load - i.e. will it light a decent sized bulb? You would need to scope the control wires to see if the are they getting a signal. Where did the resistor come from? Not unknown for them to be no good....

My blowers don't work at all, they were working one morning, drove the car in the afternoon, nothing since - that was September 2021.
If we put a direct live to the blower it works.
We replaced the "resistor interior blower" - "RIDEX Resistor, Interior Blower" - made no difference
We have replaced the fuse to the live - made no difference.
VIN no - VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
We think the problem now sits with the two smaller wires pink and brown in the picture of my above post - the sensor/thermometer?
Any help GREATLY appreciated as another winter of not having blowers will probably make me try to sell the car and I really love it otherwise!
Many thanks

Re: 2012 DS4 Blower not working
If the resistor module follows the same basic design as the module on my Mk1 C5 the heavy wires handle the power (so a couple coming into the resistor module and a pair heading off to the blower motor), and the light wires are the data link to the ventilation control system.

Re: 2012 DS4 Blower not working
Right, first you need to be aware of an outstanding vehicle after-sales campaign. I can't advise you of what it involves, but it will be free of charge. So I would suggest you contact Citroen and give them the VIN / Reg and they can advise you of what the work involves.
Back to the issue at hand, first check Fuse F10 here in the Electrical Supplies Protection & Management Unit shown as '1032' on the picture. Fuse F10 controls the front A/C Blower. I would physically test it / replace it and not rely on a visual check as there can be hairline cracks.
This connection supplies the Blower Control Module which powers the actual Blower Motor, which would explain why it is working with a direct feed.

Thanks Marc, I'm pretty certain we did check that fuse... but I'm not 100% we changed it or just checked the power supply to it.

Re: 2012 DS4 Blower not working
I would just replace it to rule it out for the cost of the fuse.
