I always feel robbed when threads die like this, particularly ones where the forum doesn't have a definitive slam dunk diagnosis, and we need a bit more info to definitively conclude what the fault is/was.

Definitely 100% agreed... It's very frustrating and even more so when members of the forum have spent some considerable time and effort to assist in a resolution only to hear nothing more...

Sadly, in my experience it's always been the case... Doesn't stop me trying to help where I can as it all goes to grow the forum knowledge-base and even though not confirmed resolved, the thread may prove useful to others with a similar issue...

Agree wholeheartedly, I'm a "long time lurker" read many more forums than I have ever joined and it's amazing how many "dead end threads" you find where its OP has specifically promised to update with the answer never to be seen again!

As Jim said, won't stop me posting! Have also found myself adding to old threads if I find something unresolved I can add too - on the basis I found that thread (and generally am reading as was hoping for something useful out of it) so leave something for the next one stumbling across it to benefit from.
