Fault code code P1676 "controlled alternator fault"

I have read a post here on the french car forum on this fault quite a time back and cannot find it via the search box. I know that member givemeabreak was involved and I cannot remember if the fault was found and fixed. The alternator is charging correctly but I haven't a clue what the fault description means. Maybe it's the control of the amount of charge or alternator load / regulation is meant by "controlled alternator fault" like an old rectifier does. That's just a guess on my part. Diagnosis states thar the fault is currently permanent? Anyone come across this or can point me in the direction of that old post on the fault and its fix.

I have found some results on the Citroën forum with the help given from mick. Seems to be a BCM reset that is required. I presume that diagbox can perform this task? Anyone know for sure?

The BSi reset is a procedure that (when done properly) cleanly shuts down all of the ECUs and then starts them all back up again. It does clear glitches (but real problems will remain). You will need to reset the clock, and possibly have to re-tune the radio. This is how to do a BSi reset;

You are welcome. However, if there is a real problem the BSi reset will not clear it. If you have access to a Lexia/DiagBox system you can use that to see what fault codes there, and see if they can be cleared.

That's a BSI reset.....I require a BCM reset. Body Control Module apparently. Sorry hell razor. Maybe the BSI procedure encorporates the BCM reset during the process?

As far as I am aware the BSi reset cleanly shuts down ALL of the ECUs. I wonder if there is some confusion? I understand BSi to mean Body System interface, and the BCM could be an alternative name for the BSi.

No, no difference what so ever. Cannot work it out. Alternator charging OK. The thing that annoying is there must be something that happens to bring the fault code up. A,so. I cannot get the fault to clear. It comes under the heading ignition /injection. The car is running perfectly. Please see diagbox screen shot. Also when I try to clear the fault I'm told the the historic faults memory is full and to delete it. Anyone know how?
