weird error code related to ABS?

2006. C3 1.4 Desire. On switching on ignition no error lights. On starting prior to moving I hear a ping and the ABS light
comes on. It stays on until engine stopped.
I checked codes and it throws up only one; P0598 relating to 'Thermostatic heater control unit'.
I am unable to see how this might relate to the ABS light.
Anyone shed a light? Do the ABS cable ends meet anywhere accessible for me to do an OHMS test on them or do I
do each wheel separate?

What device are you using to check fault codes? Did you actually scan the ABS system as that seems more like a fault code from the engine management system.

Thanks for the comment about Anders......was it really 2014! Checking with a simple OBD2 reader. All error code lists the thermostat housing problem.

Basic OBD readers normally only talk to the engine ECU, You need to read the ABS system as it is an ABS warning you are getting.

I guess I should dig out my diagbox from my Xantia and C5 days then? I do not remember
how to use it! I need to brush up on operating it.
