CITROEN C5 X7 2.0 HDI 163 AUTOMATIC GEARBOX PROBLEM

Unread post by Amine1ouri »

Hello everyone

CITROEN C5 X7 2.0 HDI 163HP 2009 160 000 KMS

I have a problem with my automatic gearbox when I pass the gearbox from any position to D, it gives a violent jerk and that's only when the engine oil temperature reaches 7 bars : https://im.ge/i/OaS6Wm

But when I change the gearbox from P or R directly to Manual quickly without staying too much in D, it works perfectly with no jerk, but I have to move the lever quickly to M If I stay just a little bit in D it gives the big jolt.

Also I have a slight jerk when downshifting from 5th gear to 4th. other than that the car drives normally and shifts correctly.

I scanned the car with diagbox and found one code related to the gearbox : U1309
and 2 other codes related to the air doser : P1499 and P0487 (maybe because they removed the dpf without removing it from the ecu, I bought the car like that)

Gearbox oil change done twice with no improvements

Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you

We won't support cars which have had the emissions systems disabled as it's illegal to do this in most European countries at least, so expect issues if you have had this done.

U1309: Communication with the automatic gearbox ECU fault: No signal
P1499: Air mixer: Position incorrect (Open too far) (APV)
P0487: Air mixer: Position incorrect (Open too far)

As I said before I bought the car like that, the previous owner didn't tell me anything about it, but when the check engine light appeared I inspected the whole car and I noticed some weldings on the dpf.

I'm in Morocco not an european country that's why the MOT passed without any advisories as they don't control dpf and emissions, otherwise I wouldn't buy this car.

so before spending a lot of money on the car I want to know if there is a solution for my problem, I dont want to buy the dpf and other parts then I end up with the same issue, If I know the problem would exist after fixing the dpf I prefer sell the car and buy another one it will cost me less.

for this code : U1309: Communication with the automatic gearbox ECU fault: No signal
I checked the cable of the automatic gearbox and there is no oxydation, I want to control the continuity of the wires from the automatic GB ecu to the engine ecu but I didn't find the schematics, If you can help me with that

I just want your experiences if anyone has had the same case

Hey,

Did you find the reason for this problem? I have the exact same problem with my C5 right now.

You don't have the names of the different components that are connected to the AM6 ? like the 1603, 1642, IC02D, IC02C ...

Most of the hardware codes can be found on the Wiki, link below. They are in sections in ascending order.

https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/wiki/Elect ... ring_Codes

IC* means an interconnection where harnesses join.

1642: gear lever blocking actuator control relay
1603: assembly (automatic gearbox control)

PSF1 is the engine fusebox
BSI1 is the BSI

Some wiring codes for 1630:
6742 : Shift-lock command
6730 : Gear lever earth
6713 : Automatic gearbox - position signal
6712 : Automatic gearbox + position signal
9006F: Diagnostic line bus K (engine + automatic gearbox management)

Hello Mark,

Finally I think I found the problem of the U1309 error code
Since it's a used car, I found that my automatic gearbox was changed from a peugeot 508 year 2012.
and since the 508 uses a CAN2010 system unlike the C5 X7 CAN2004, that's why I have this error code U1309: Communication with the automatic gearbox ECU fault: No signal

Now I need to buy an ECU that is compatible with my car.

While searching on the internet I noticed that the ECUs fitted in cars like the C5 X7 CAN2004 have AW_BVA_AM6 on the label and not AW_BVA_AT6 as shown bellow in the photo of my gearbox.

https://im.ge/i/00IDbT

but there are several references maybe because there are several engines, namely the 2.0 HDI 140,163 and the V6 HDI ...

So I want to know which reference to look for a 2.0 HDI 163CV here's my VIN : VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thanks

There are differences between the AM6 gearbox and the AT6 Gearbox (and there have even been variances between the AM6 boxes themselves).

I can only provide you with the internal PSA Part number for your gearbox, but please see below:

If you need an original, genuine part number or part diagram, and can't already find the info you need on the Forum, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future part number requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then pop your VIN up.
