identifying wheel sizes..

Unread post by Agour »

Hi!

I need to buy a spare set of wheels for using in the winter, and my friend reckons I can get a fairly generic set of steel wheels.

Does anyone know if I can lookup my wheel size, based on the car model? It's a x7 c5 estate...

(Not the tyre size btw, I'm thinking bolt circle diameter and any other dimensions I may need..)

Or, do you know of other wheels that would fit that model? Maybe they used the same wheel sizes on C4's, etc...

Thanks!

A quick online check says they are 7Jx17 ET32 wheels.. but is there anyway I can confirm this?

A lot of wheels will fit in theory, but watch out for the offset!

Ohhh damn, that's a comprehensive listing.. Thanks!

Seems like a lot of wheels have more offset than mine.. Which I guess increases the chance of rubbing 🤔 is there anyway to know what I could get away with?

Try this page...you can put in the old and new dimensions (and play around with spacer size) to figure out what might fit

So I found someone selling c5 wheels from the same year car (but hatchback model) .. Yet they are marked "7jx16ch 5-28"

I guess they should probably fit.. But hard to really know?

All C4's are as far as I can tell, near as damnit the same wheel fitment, save for a mill here or there on offset, so you've got a world of options.
