I'm aware of it now thanks Paul, I can make sure I'll never listen to it again!! Honestly not sure if anything from the punk era qualifies alongside most of the tracks already on this thread :o

I have to respectfully disagree. The Pistols "God Save the Queen", "Pretty Vacant" and "Anarchy in the UK" are classics, not, perhaps because of their musical virtuosity, but because of their
influence on the alternative music scene. If frankly rubbish dirges such as "Sweet Caroline" count as classics, then these three Pistols songs do, as do quite a few songs from The Clash or The Damned.

I have to agree with you there Tony which is why I said MOST of the tracks on this thread. As for the Pistols tracks, I don't know any of them so not able to make any sensible comment but for me, if I don't know them at all I cannot class them as classics!! :-D

Well if a generation before you knows it and generations after you know it, then it's a classic, whether or not you like it.

I have just scanned right back through the thread to discover two groups that have not had a mention, so here's my choice from the first one which may not be their biggest classic but I love the intro:

The second group I had in mind were responsible for this track which has become an absolute legendary classic for a certain fraternity among the motoring public, look out for 2 minutes 55 seconds onwards!! :-D
