Hello again.
I think I am wrong on the following....the ignition key in the ignition lock should be in the full on position rather than the first position as advised? If you want to do two plips, here is a post from some time ago.
1. Have ignition turned off, with key (not attached to plip) in ignition.
2. Turn on ignition (all dash warning light on).
3. Promply press each button of the first remote, 1 second each (do not turn off ignition).
4. Repeat step 3 for the first remote (do not turn off ignition).
5. Repeat step 3 with the second remote (do not turn off ignition).
6. Repeat step 5.
7. Switch off ignition and check that both remote work.
Hope this works, otherwise get back to me again, I will find the answer!

i,ll give it a go and i,ll let you know how i get on, but one thing i would like to know does the isolation switch have to be on or off becouse as soon as i switch it on the alarm sounds and i promptly have to switch it off.

Hi,
On a 93 to 97 Xantia with 2 button plip.
I sorted my flip out like this. Put your key into igition switch and turn on. Put plip right up to red dome in roof lining, by int. mirror. Press until your hear/feel a click , up to 12 times. Switch off ignition, and aim plip at dome, click it and it should work, ie lock/unlock doors. It works for me everytime. Obviously batteries should be ok in plip. If it doesn`t work, just turn ignition switch to the accessories position and retry the clicking at dome.
Hope this helps
Greg

My guess is the alarm is triggering, and in this mode you shoudn't logically be able to reprogram the plip while it is.
I think the key switch under the bonnet only cuts out the siren, though the alarm still can be 'on'. Is there a relay ticking under the dash too when you open the door? this could be the park lights flashiing indicating the alarm is on even though the key has switched the siren off. Possibly the alarm is triggering and someone has removed that realy too, because with my car, I can start and drive it with the alarm on!
Try this : get in the car, and turn the ignition on while holding the alarm override button on the dash (just above the ignition).
Hopefully this will switch the alarm off even if the siren and lights have been disabled.
Then try the siren key to see if it's still on.
If it's off, try reprogramming your plip again...
good luck
Richie
