NGK plug ok?? BKR6E (6926)

Post by Moog »

Hi,

Ordered some Bosch plugs (FR7DC+) for my Xsara Picasso from GSF in a 65% off deal. (That's nearest the original spec of FR7KDC I could find)

When I collected, GSF didn't have those and swapped in NGK BKR6E (no letter suffix).

I'm assuming they'll fit ok but will these run right? I'm not a label fetishist but I remember a Volkswagen I had was never happy (hesitation/lumpy running) on some alternatives makes of plug.

And will the gap still be 0.9mm as per the book?

They'll still boxed up so I could just get my money back. Going on holiday with the family soon so wanting it all serviced and running well before I go.

Cheers!

1.6 petrol 8V 2001 99,000m.

Part number: 1632745480 and the following are all ok:

Original OEM

BOSCH - FR8LDC
BOSCH - FR7KDC
BOSCH - 0242235609

Cheaper option vehicles 18.5K miles, part: 1625935280

Or:

Part: 1632745480, EYQUEM - RFN52LZ or EYQUEM - RFN58LZ

Or

Part: 1625935280, vehicles 18.5K miles

Or
Part: 1632745480, CHAMPION - RC8YCL
Or

So plenty of choice. I can't speak for the other brands, but the above are all listed on the official parts for your vehicle.

I'm surprised they didn't give you the NGK four points, we used them on every vehicle we serviced when I worked at a garage. No need to gap them and worked in everything.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Many thanks Marc - really appreciated. I try not to bother the forum any more than I have to but will post these types of things in the parts section.

All the best,
