Tailgate window won't open c5 estate mark 2

Post by kevino »

Hi guys need a bit of help. The window part of the tailgate won't open. No response when button is pressed. Is there a common failure point for this?

Hey. Yes, this is a common failure and can be resolved with the introduction of a new grounding wire on the tailgate. I haven’t done it myself but the previous owner of my sister’s C5 showed me his modification, which he’d read about in here and it is still working years later. It looked easy enough to do.

It is also possible that the issue is down to water ingress in the switch. I had this on my first and second C5, and replacing the switch solved it (but the switch is around £50! )

Yikes, that's a bit much for a switch. I wonder if i can run an electrical test and take switch apart?
