2010 Peugeot 3008 handbrake cable

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2.0 hdi 150 exclusive as a non runner due to injector issues.

I have managed to sort those issues but I have another I cannot fathom

The Electric Parking Brake!

Garage I bought car from cut the o/s/r cable to release the brake and enable the car to be rolled.

I have a snap on and when I started on the job I stopped the auto brake function and then put the car into service mode (change brake cable).

After much fun and games I managed to fit the new rear cable (was very tight fit) removed both rear calipers, wound the pistons back and proceeded to use snap on to re calibrate the cable.

In a nutshell it wont do it. C155A error code comes up.

After much head scratching I have come to the conclusion the levers on the rear calipers are not returning to the stops and I assume is preventing the handbrake reset procedure. When released live data shows fluctuating 62 - 78 nm torque force, which I assume must be zero,

For the life of me I have searched high and low on error code and on rear brakes but cannot see anything about the cable change and any possible anomalies,

The front cable is genuine as it the nsr the replacement osr is the same length as the original that was cut to release the brakes (measured side by side with whole cable)

Can anyone shed some light?

I am totally flummoxed and want to get it booked for delivery.

I look forward to hearing some suggestions.

Tried calibrating with Diagbox? Is the motor ok?

I only have snap on omitec and foxwell units.

The motor was working fineprior to fitting the cable and works fine when setting and releasing handbrake via the snap on etc.

However, it is as though the motor is not fully releasing the longitudinal cable hence why live data is showing a torque reading. Even in service mode the rear cable was very tight to fit and the levers on the calipers do not return fully to their stops.

I am wondering if maybe the motor somehow compensates for s perceived slack cable and has tightened it up. But using the manual release does not slacken the caable right off.

The auto park etc was all working when right side cable was cut. Only since I put it in service mode and the cables being really tight does it now not work.

I assume diagbox would have a function for adjusting cables apart from the normal calibration mode?

Or do I need to remove the seat etc to manually un adjust the tight cable?

Right,

Got under car and rear caliper handbrake levers are approx 5mm from the bump stop on each side.

Removed seat and checked motor (How the hell the cable is changed is beyond me) and the cable is at the rearmost limit (so as slack as will go)

All original cables fitted and the only way to remove them is to remove calipers and compress them.

So I am absolutely flummoxed !

Looks like a trip to a specialist is on the cards as I am completely lost
