Re: Engine immobilised
Yes, you are quite correct, the part is available.
Told by the dealer a few days ago NLA, now told next day delivery from PSA!
Ordered, can't be bothered pulling the existing apart!
Thanks for all your help so far.

Re: Engine immobilised
Sounds like you have the same problem I had many years ago on our 2001 Xsara Estate. I never did find out what exactly the problem was and bypassed the fusebox to feed the pump directly with a new fused supply.

The bypass was still working fine when we got rid of the Xsara in 2017.

Re: Engine immobilised
I suspect this is just a failed internal relay. Your Xsara was the older setup with an external Double relay. I can almost guarantee your Xsara was a high resistance in the supply to to the double relay. Normally caused by a bad connection at one of the big round connectors behind the ECU, i have had to do this repair more times than I could count. I normally run a new supply to the relay. The telltale sign if this is the problem is you measure the voltage at the fuel pump & there is round about 12v but if you check it with a bulb there is not enough current to light the bulb.
P.S. You should never bypass a fuel pump relay (with the exception of testing) as it could be potentially dangerous in the event of an accident or severed fuel line.
