Hi all,
After some advice, I have a 2 ltr 2010 407sw and I have a ac issue I need to rectify.
The basics.
The car has been degassed and hold pressure with no leaks.
If I turn the ac on the compressor will click in and run for about 10 seconds and cuts out, the fan also clicks in and runs on after the compressor has disengaged but again stops after a minute of so.
I’ve run some diagnostics, the runs when put into high speed, however when I try low speed not a lot happens.
I have two error codes showing which I believe is causing the issue, the problem is I don’t know where to start. I’ve tried YouTube but there are not many vids on the 407. Any help would be gratefully received.
The fault P1471 has been cleared and no longer shows.

Re: 407 ac issue
Hi and welcome. You can more or less ignore the glow plug fault for now, and I'd focus on the other two. Pop your VIN (Automasked on post submission) up and I'll get some fault descriptors for these codes as they relate to your specific engine. If the fan circuit is faulty then this will affect the A/C operation. The EGR is likely to be a separate issue.

Re: 407 ac issue
Here are the fault codes for your DW10BTED4 Engine with Delphi Injection: So I would start with your fan unit first of all. The electronics behind the fan are subject to water ingress or general failure. The fan unit itself is no longer supplied by Peugeot, but there is a 50A relay incorporated there. Whether this has partially failed it hard to say, but maybe worth a punt.
Fault Code: | P1471 |
Description of Fault: | Throttle housing electrovalve control (EGR) (Principal air meter): Throttle open. Circuit open for 1 second (Air mixer open). |

Suspect Areas: |

Fault Code: | P0495 |
Description of Fault: | Cooling Function Incorporated in the ECU ( electric cooling fan unit): Coherence between cooling fan fast speed and the reference. The fan unit is controlled at low speed but the actual speed is not low speed, or if the fan unit is not controlled but even so, is engaged. |
Conditions for Fault to clear: | Driving for 5 minutes |
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active: |

Thanks for providing the info, I’ll start with the fan and work outwards from there.

Re: 407 ac issue
Quick update for you, I’ve solved the issue.. took the fab out and the loom and found two wires had been worn right through. Replaced the wires, put it back together and as if by magic it worked fine without any problems..only take a few years to actually sort out..

Re: 407 ac issue
My 407SW 2.2 Petrol's Sanden AC Pump recently did this. Please see photos. So I had to replace the pump and condenser and clean out the entire system...
