Left indicator is not working - Citroen Jumper '10

Post by blaaskaakje »

Hello hello,

I'm new here, and was hoping I could get some help :-D I'm currently converting my Jumper '10 but I'm running into an issue. My indicator is not working properly, front left. I've checken the grounding, the bulb itself, a new bulb and if there is a current from the connectors towards the socket and there. It seems there is something not right in between the bulb and the socket but I can't figure out what.

I've attached a picture of the bulb socket.

Thank you already!

Do you know if this vehicle has a "comms" unit on it? These were somewhat prone to indicator failure, more often than not the left. If it has try gently pushing forward or pulling back on the indicator stalk (generally wiggle it back and forth) and see if the indicators start working better. There are a few videos on you tube showing how to repair the comms unit ( I've not watched much of this video so i don't know how good it is) but i've always just replaced them. If you do replace it ensure you get exactly the right one for your vehicle.
Music keeps me going.

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, the video does not have the answer. I've switched the bulb, and even a new headlight unit (current one was bad anyways), and still no luck. If I check the connectors of the bulb, it does have power like the photo suggest, but it just won't light up.

I've tried a test lamp, and it worked for a second, but then that also won't light no more.

Help 😔

Do you have the VIN for this van so i can look at a wiring diagram?
Just to confirm it's only the left front thats not working? Does the rear left and the lamp in the left mirror work OK?
Is it still not working when you lock the car (when the lights flash) or when you operate the hazard lights?
If its only one corner thats not working that would rule out the comms unit.

Check the plug is not the wrong way round (180° wrong) yes they will go in the wrong way if forced. I had this on my Peugeot boxer when it went to garage for repair and they plugged the headlight the wrong way.
