It's not often we get the chance to post something up to date on this thread for obvious reasons but I came across Lanimer Day, one of Scotland's oldest traditions and discovered the massed pipes and drums of the Lanark Lanimers filmed just 2 weeks ago!! :

The only brewer I've ever known from Glasgow is Tennants but as I don't drink lager which is all they do now from that old site I have no idea about a pub. I can say the bar in Glasgow Central was terrible though!

There is an EV transmission Specialist somewhere in North Lancashire, well known to the Forum!
Regards NeilMandrake wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 22:22 Ok, gearbox back in and everything else that was removed in the process apart from the driveshafts is back in....
Swapping the gearbox itself didn't take me that long - under an hour from loosening the bolts of the old one to tightening the bolts of the new one. In contrast building the support frame for the chain lift took me about 2 hours, although that was partly because the heat was intense until the sun moved around the other side of the house so I had to keep stopping to go inside...
Here's a few photos from today:
Quite a lot of room to work in the "motor bay" on the Leaf. There are only a couple of bolts at the top of the rear engine mount that are quite hard to get to, everything else is straight forward to access.
You missed all the fun today Richard, you could have added EV mechanic to your resume...

Well it needs bringing forward into the body of the Kirk...
As well as that as mentioned in the Nairnshire bit Lanarkshire is also the original home of Nairn's oatcakes.
Strathaven is also home to a craft brewery https://strathavenales.com/We know a thing or two about oats - we’ve been baking with them since 1896 when John and Sarah Nairn first opened their bakery in Strathaven, Lanarkshire.
Regards NeilWhat about a cool Lanarkshire Ginger Jock on a hot summers day, very refreshing I'm sure.

When it first kicked off the Pickled Egg Quiz, used to be known as "The Pickled Egg Trivia Quiz" and this little proper trivia poser arising from Denbighshire was put before the FCF throng.

For those interested in the answer it was nicely teased out with a contribution by Bobins. You might expect Denbighshire to be represented on the 1971 Esso Football Club Badges collectors chart...
... and it is of course, With Wrexham AFC, who had a couple of clashes with Newcastle United in the FA Cup in 1978, 2-2 at St James, and Wrexham won the replay at the racecourse ground 4-1 when they were in the 3rd Division.
Wrexham's 5th round match was against Blyth Spartans at the Racecourse Ground. Last minute equaliser from Wrexham took it to a replay at St James' Park.
This brings back memories
