Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Just taken a punt on used Lexia3/PP200/Diagbox V7 on eBay. I've read a few posts on this forum and I was just wondering if it's fairly user friendly?

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Not really - it was never released to the public. What you are purchasing is a 'modified' version to allow DIY / Professionals access to PSA's bespoke diagnostic hardware and software. Their technicians are trained on how to use it and have regular bulletins on features and updates that you and I will not have access to.
If you are new to all this then I recommend you read the important pointers I put together on this thread:

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Thanks again Marc, some very useful tips there. I'm only planning some simple fault diagnosis on the parking system, but still all good info.

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
OK. Failed at the first hurdle!
Installed Diagbox and updated to 7.83 (not on the internet).
Took laptop to car, disconnected the internet, plugged in the VCI, green light came on.
Then nothing.
No vehicle information and the Global Test & Faults Journal are greyed out.
If I click on the Citroen banner i get ' Data Access Problem'. but if I click the tick twice, it disappears.
Any clues?

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
It has likely deactivated as a result of being internet connected at some point.
You will need to restore the licence file that you should of backed up after installation.
In future, it is essential to keep the network / WiFi adapter switched on, but disconnect any software internet connections to your home router / public WiFi AND make sure that they do not automatically connect when in range of a hotspot.

Restore the licence file? I don't remember that being mentioned in the installation instructions! Looks like its an uninstall / reinstall then!

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Copy the licence file from C:\AWROOT\BIN\FI\APPDIAG.SYS after the installation and after it restarts which should be at version 7.02 of Diagbox. Copy the APPDIAG.SYS files from the directory and store it safely so that you can copy it back to the same location later it later if Diagbox deactivates.

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Did a full uninstall using - 'Diagbox uninstall and cleaner'.
Then re-installed in flight mode, so no chance of activation.
Connected the laptop to the car with no networks connected, but not in flight mode.
Opened Diagbox and................ still nothing!
How can I tell if it's deactivated?
P.S. thanks for the licence tip. I'd already re-installed, by the time I'd read your post though.

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
I think I had to delete a registry folder before reinstalling but Marc will advise better. I'm using Win7 32 bit.

I assumed the removal software did all of that?

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Success!!
After a third uninstall, two lots of cleaner software and a few deletions of registry files, followed by another install and update to V7.57, it works!
Plugged it in this evening and with a bit of fettling I ran a full Global Test - oh what a lot of faults I've got!
Now to start fixing them.......

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Good news, Note the faults down, delete them all then go for a drive and see what comes back. Some may be old faults that don't need looking into.

Thanks. I'll give that a go, although I know that some are still current.

Re: Lexia Diagbox Newbie
Make sure you back up that licence file now, while it is activated and working!
I've been a little busy away from the Forum these last few days, but as you have now found - the uninstallation of DB is not sufficient for a deactivated version that requires reinstallation. The registry entries need removing and specific folders - DB Cleaner should assist with this.
