Peugeot NG4 Nav update
Hi
We have just got ourselves a 308cc with an NG4 media system in it, I was wondering if anyone on here has come across or even better used a web Company at Satnavmapupdate, they seems to be selling an NG4 map update 2020/21 for £34.99 (reduced to this) so sounds good obviously it will only be a map update as I think PSA do a firm wear and POi update within the 4 discs this is just a usb stick they send you.
I was just wondering if anyone has used them on here, if so are there maps ok, last thing I want to do is try and install it to find it has corrupted the nav system, my wife would me most annoyed at me breaking her new toy.
Thanks for your help, its all rather confusing this NG4 system at the mo.

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
It's a very good system. I had one in my C5 X7. Plays DVDs (when stationary), has bluetooth and also a separate SIM card if you have the services module installed, Voice control, 3D mapping, plays MP3 via USB slot or, you can slot in an SD card in the front and play all your MP3s from there, or use the Jukebox function. Lots of other features too, but to go back to your question....
There are no longer any official maps available for this system since 2016, which angered a lot of us with these units since PSA decided not to commission any more updates from HERE (who provide the maps). There are however, some people who have modified the BMW map updates (which use a similar unit) to work with the NG4.
The people selling these are crooks making money - as the updates are freely available from various forums with a little know how.
I will send you some info via a Private Message shortly.

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
Thank you very much for your help, we had a read up about the system it does sound very impressive indeed, for a 12 plate car Aux in glove box, usb in armrest and SD in the face of the system which I manged to get to play also does DVD/CD from dash system as well and I did see you can talk to it we have not got that far yet had vehicle a week now so the wife is getting use to it, plus by the time she gets home its dark, a much better system them my Renault in car TomTom, its just us well me being closer to 60 than 50 it takes a little longer to figure it out I managed to get rid of the old jukebox music files and added 1 album the other night but not sure if it had gone into the folder I made or direct from the SD into the juke box in its own folder, I will see on Saturday as she is going to work in mine so I can have a play. I did send a message to this particular company mentioned on Tuesday but as of yet no reply which I thought a bit odd, I did do a press of set up and got system version which was Ng4_D_N326_N32.05, not what I was expecting to see but now from the PDF you sent I can see this is not the map version as I didn't do the 2 second press, I will do this on Saturday and see what is it running.
Should be er great fun!

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
Ok, so that means you have an out of date firmware (N32.05). The latest is N42C, for which the links are also in the link I gave you - or I have them directly if you need them.
Always update the firmware first and keep the engine running throughout.
As for the jukebox - I would not use that as it means the Hard disk inside is being used and if you want to preserve operation as these automotive grade hard drives are rarer than hens teeth. I would just stick to transferring all your files onto the SD card (I used a 32Gb SD card without any issues) and played all my music from the SD card. It's also a lot easier to remove and transfer your ripped CDs from a PC and transfer them to your SD card where you can make your own folders and add and remove tracks as you want.

Thanks sounds good to me SD card it is, be interesting to see which map it has then.
Are they quite robust to do if you know what I mean some systems are just "flimsy" and crash at the slightest hiccup, I guess what I am trying to say is can you easily cock it up i read you have to keep motor running to avoid economy mode kicking in. Supose it's like anything new makes you nervous the first time.

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
Maps are 2011/12, no wonder quite a few roads come up not as on map. so it has its original "from factory" software and maps. wonder why people do that, pay extra for a system like this in your new vehicle then never update it, But having said that is quite amazing how many people don't update there Volkswagen maps which at one time where free from your customer Volkswagen login which you got when you bought your new car, all you needed as a SD card, but nope!
So will be staring the next step soon in updating it, any one know how long it takes approx, to get new software and then maps in from a USB, I believe the CD/DVD,s take 40 odd mins and the n maps over an hour. so might well be a weekender then, make sure er in doors fills it up so I can run it.
Cheers for all the help so far......

Maps about 30-40 minutes from a USB key for Europe, similar for firmware, much longer via DVD

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
Make sure you have the engine running when you do the update, so that the system does not go into Economy Mode and possibly corrupt the HDD.

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
@ Vldblk9a: You don't have an RNEG system, you have an NG4 Navidrive 3D or referred to as an NG4 WIPCOM 3D for Peugeot vehicles.
I shall send you a link to the last version of the firmware via PM.

We don't supply links generally. I may have what you need, but you haven't asked yet.
Assuming you have the NG4, what version do you have or require?

Re: Peugeot NG4 Nav update
This thread is for the NG4, not the RNEG, but regardless we do not supply maps here.
Others have managed to modify the BMW maps to get the main mapping features working, but POIs are not updated.
