It'll likely be that one of the sensors has failed. When this happens the parking assistance ECU disables the system as a precaution. A proper diagnostic with Diagbox will be able to determine which one has failed. Sometimes water can get into the rear of the sensors where the wiring enters and corrode them.

Good morning, I had my Ds3 in for parking sensor fault repair. They've returned the car and said that the sensors are fine but it looks like a fault with the PCB and this would be upwards of £500. I was hoping to buy a used PCB and attempt a swap but struggling to find any sort of location drawings or info on where the PCB is. Anyone have any info that they could share?

That's not helpful to be honest. There are PCBs in all the ECUs - that's a generic term that just means Printed Circuit Board.

Which specific ECU were they referring to? BSI, Engine Fuse Box, Parking Assistance ECU.... you get the picture.

In order to locate a second hand 'one' of whatever it is you need, you'll need to first ascertain what it is they are referring to. If they have provided you with the part number, then you can search on that.

Be aware that many ECUs are not just plug and play; many are configured for the specific vehicle, engine and optional equipment depending on what ECU we are talking about. This would mean you will still have to use Diagbox or another professional level diagnostics kit in order to configure it, or have it done at the dealer.

However a dealer will likely not be willing to do this on self-supplied second hand ECUs to cover themselves against issues.

I didn't ask but I'm sure I can give them a call and confirm they just said the fault is probably in the parking sensor ECU, a quick google brought me to the below part but I did wonder why such a cheap part would be upwards of £500 to fit in the garage.

You do need the correct one for your vehicle as the systems differ between capabilities and build date.

They will be charging you for a new one of course and fitting and configuration.
