Xsara Pic gear lever adjustment

Evening all just a quickie I hope.

I have bought new cables for the Xsara Picasso (1.6, 16v petrol) and as soon as the weather allows me to work outside lying under the car I'll have a go at putting them in. However what I also bought was two plastic bushes and two metal clips for the gear lever mechanism itself. I have no idea where these are for! I've studied the Haynes useless book of car repair (to be fair its ok but doesn't go into great detail)

Does anyone know where at the end of the gear leaver they are supposed to live please? I'm hoping to do these as a 30 minute fix - thats about the time it takes me to remove the lower plastics from around the centre console.

Oh yes in case anyone asks, I gave the vin details for this car around 18 months ago on my last query.

A picture might help of the parts in question - there are lots of components to the gearbox control cables. They may be the cable control bushes and clips that secure the cables to the gear selector mechanism.

Is it these clips? If its the bits im thinking of the bushes get inserted in the gear cable ends & go over the pins i have circled then the clips secure them onto the pins.

Best post a pic of the bits you have to confirm.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I have been away. Thank you for the info 'Give me a break'. Yes those are the bushes I ordered wheeler, thanks for the photos. I just been out to the garage and checked the new cables, they already have them installed on the ends. I guess thats another couple of pounds that are going to find their way into the bottom of the spare parts drawer!
