Many Thanks

What is the purpose of this clutch position sensor it is an old skol cable system and I just cant fathom out what it could be doing
At the moment it is stuffed up under the dashboard and doing nothing and I have not noticed any difference

The engine ECU uses the clutch position information to make slight adjustments to the fueling when dipping the clutch for anti stalling. It also is used for cruise control operation if fitted.
You probably wouldn’t notice that much difference if it wasn’t working. I remember working on a petrol C3 that the clutch switch had came detached, it stalled really easily when pulling away, I suppose you would just ‘learn’ the clutch just like driving a different car.

In other words, learning to drive properly like we all had to do "in the olden days"!
