Solenoid valve (turbo vaccum)
I had an error code p0234 on my citroen c4 1.6 hdi and i found that it was the solenoid valve which is located at the back of the engine.IF YOU HAVE ERROR CODE P0234 (OVERBOOST SITUATION) IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOUR SOLENOID VALVE IS BROKEN.Here is a photograph of the solenoid valve

Thanks for sharing, my car is 2.0HDI, but I think your experience should also be suitable for my car, I have collected it.

Re: Solenoid valve (turbo vaccum)
The atmospheric port on the boost valve has a little foam filter, and if that is restricted, the valve can't dump vacuum fast enough, and that can trigger an overboost error.
