Maps weren't that long updated when I had it James. The maps are stored on the head units hard drive.. I'm not sure if your age of headunit can be updated any further.

The sos my be a subscription service. Buy it sends an sos call to emergency services in the event of an accident. The right hand side is a sim slot to take your sim and turns the car into a giant mobile phone.

You have the earlier RT4 system.

The last available maps update for this system was for 2016/17, which has data collected in the last 3 months of 2015.

Is there a way (key presses, for example) whereby I can get the radio to show me what model/version it is?

No. You need to pull it out and see the model number on the sticker for head unit model.

As for maps. It should take the last one mentioned above James. It has the 2012 ones.

There's two versions of headunit which look identical on the outside. One with jukebox and one without. The one without jukebox needs the maps disc in the headunit all the time to work.. But with jukebox you don't need the maps disc as it stores it on the hard drive. That car has the jukebox and harddrive which was the last headunit offer on them before the c5 x7 came along

Furthermore harness for connecting them are different between non jukebox and jukebox cars so aren't directly interchange.

As I mentioned you have the earlier RT4, but if you want to know the system firmware version try:

1) Switch the power on
2) Hold down the MENU button until you get the extended menu
3) Select DEVICE DESCRIPTION
4) The software version will then appear

This is what you do on the RT3 and the RT4 may well be similar on the older RT4

Well, the radio is showing firmware version 8.31, and the UK map is 2016/2017, so all good there. However, she has a few glitches to sort out still (I will be doing a BSi reset either this evening or tomorrow). Neither the radio or the multiscreen show up on the Lexia (no dialogue with either of them), the BSi says there is an error with the oil system (F159), while the Injection is throwing up the error P0033. This afternoon she went into limp mode (2000rpm), but with no EML.

Fault p0033 is bypass fault for turbo.. Possibly wastegate.. So possibly a vaccum electro valve like the mk. 1 C5 unless it's electric.. I'm not sure.

Where would I find the oil sensor? I want to check the wire is properly connected, and (if it is reasonably accessible) spray some contact cleaner into the connections.

Is the turbocharge purely electronically operated, or as there a vacuum 'component' involved? I want to resolve this turbo issue and I need to know where to start looking.

Oil level sensor. Is likely to be on the back of the block.

Not sure on the turbo issue.

James, while I had my 3 2.2s I downloaded the service manual from the link below. It didn't solve all the issues but it was helpful in clarifying where things were etc. You may find it useful:

I have had the Lexia back onto the C5, with my camera. The two errors are still there. F159 in the BSi, and P0033 in the Injection. They will NOT clear, which strongly suggests they are present when the Lexia is talking to her. Neither error was there when I checked her after the engine problem occurred (I have a little book with the owner manual that I record Lexia result in).
