A few days ago I posted a parts request for a oil sensor for a 407 Hdi 2.7 (which marc kindly moved to the Citroen Parts request thread)
After getting some price sticker shot and postage wait time, I invested in a oil pressure gauge and discovered the oil pressure was indeed low at idle (around 2 psi - if fact, the needle hardly moved) but was around 1.6 bar / 23 psi at 2000 rpm (well within specs) - eg sensor was fine
I then decided to take the oil filter off (cartridge type) and discovered that I had mis fitted the spigot and so the oil cartridge was crushed and the spigot blocked.
Put a new cartridge in first (ensure the spigot was firmly in place), then screwed the plastic cap back on and like magic, we have 1.1 bar / 18 psi at idle.
I also found this video (albeit of a Ford 2.7 Territory with the same 2.7 hdi engine) that makes it look easy (start at 6 mins) -
Some happy snaps

Great job , no sensor will tell you that , a good old fashioned look and poke around sometimes is the best way , well done.
