Citroen 1.6 hdi engine block

Unread post by Luke edgar »

Hi all my 1.6 blue hdi con rods have bent and I need a engine block I am trying to find out if all the engine blocks are the same from 2009 to 2017 and if its just a matter of bolting my parts on it

No, they have different part numbers between the 1.6 engines.

The con-rods have different part numbers or the block (assemblies?)?

I'm just talking about the blocks at present Paul. A couple of engines have the same block, but the other 1.6 variants are different.

Yes, I'm wondering why the OP is asking about a different block when he says the con-rods have bent.

(Further musings), all four con-rods damaged sounds like the engine has ingested water so maybe the block is damaged as well.

The BHY engine (DV6FD) 8 valve is far newer then your existing 9HX (DV6ATED4) 16 valve and I suspect there will be many other differences.

Stick to the same engine code you have (9HX) to avoid issues.

Ok, I mis-read what you said. Same thing applies, Stick to a BHY engine.
