Please check my VIN NUMBER ...

Post by EssoUnknown »

Hi all.

I just bought another Citroen, its C5 2009 2,0HDI tourer this time. (myway navi)

Can anyone please check my VIN number to see does my car have indexed mirrors in rear gear ?
I found it in LEXIA tryd to activate but it does not work.

I have 1 fault under doors menagment ( this maybe isnt a fault and its maybe just a NOTE )
it say: RPO 12047, the wehicle no longer has position senzor for rear view mirrors. Do not take the fault codes F9D0 and F9D1 into account )

My VIN is : VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thx in advanced

Hi

No you don't. You just have standard tinted fold back mirrors, so not electrochrome auto tinting and not the indexable versions either.

Ty 4 your repy.

I dont know how you check VIN-s data and what can you see, but...
Can you print me some list of equipment i have or something like that so i know exactly what i got, even screenshot could work.
And engine number so it helps me google things in future.
Please if its not to much hassle 4 you...

and another quick question, can hydro car be converted to normal shocks without changing arms?
( i ask just to know is it worth as no replacement hydro shocks and Citroen ones are a bit exp. )

Only the C5 X7 was available with conventional Metallic suspension and these had manual hand brakes too.

You could replace the shocks in the future, but the struts are still available - but are cheaper in Poland. There are a few sellers on ebay that have them at considerably less expense than Citroen prices.

This would involve configuration changes to the BSI - as the ESP system is linked to the Suspension ECU, plus you'd need to replace the BHI for the smaller reservoir for the power steering fluid and probably sort out the hydraulic pipework.

As for the faults in your first post:- Citroen removed the indexing rear view mirror functions via a BSI software update on exclusive models that had this feature with the top of the range mirrors. Something to do with EU regulations  and type of mirror class that could obstruct the driver from seeing a child when reversing or similar.

THX 4 reply...

Is there any number for hydro struts to search ebay ? or are they all the same ?

My tough was just to redirect LDS lines that power strut to return line and disconnect the pump.
Car would try to adjust the height but pump would be off so only error would occur, not sure would it kick abs/esp fault...

Can hydro strut be repaired (replace seals and such ) to fix bottom leak or it can not be opened ?

The struts on the X7 are non-repairable without destruction of some components, unlike the previous C5s.

The struts were different depending on engine - but as they no longer make this car, all replacements struts from Citroen have been limited to the same part number for each of the left and right struts.

If you can't find the part numbers on the Forum in existing posts, we can help with official live part numbers, but this does require a membership upgrade, as we have to pay PSA for this data. But, it will cover you for any parts info or parts requests for up to 2 years, so great value, plus I'll be able to send you a VIN specification if you still want this.
