Re: C4 VTS - Tire pressure not monitored fault

Unread post by Sloppysod »

Hi All,
Any tips on removing the TPM units from an alloy wheel? I am thinking about getting my wheels, blasted and re-enamelled as they are fairly corroded, centerhub & around some of the tyre valves.
Should I expect the valve body to be correded in the wheel, and how do I put the valves back again and ensuring an airtight seal?
Any special tools, other than Diagbox & a long reach socket?
I see there is a repair kit (Part no. 5412 03), does anyone know if they consist of replacement seals and are they still available?
Thanks

Is this for your X7 Stu?

If so, the repair kit has been replaced with part: 541205. They are £5.44 direct from Citroen, item (4) on the diagram.

They contain everything you need - valve body, inner valve, cap, seal etc. These are supposed to be done periodically anyway, so probably a good idea to sort them all for £20 anyway.

Are you removing / refitting yourself? If so let me know as there are 2 types, Siemens and Schraeder. I'll put a guide up in the Resources section once you confirm if you'd like....

Cheers Marc, yes it is for my C5, I got the part number from an old database, so not surprised the part number has been changed.
Still only thinking at the moment - cost vs car value - 🤔 and yes if/when it does happen I will be doing it myself.
Thanks

Hi Marc, decided to go ahead and get the wheels painted so any advice would be welcome.
Cheers

Hi Stu. I've been out all day today, but didn't forget.

The guide is now in the member resources section:
